Project Description:
These longtime homeowners were ready to refresh their kitchen. They were happy with the layout, existing floor, and countertops, so refacing was the perfect solution. Growing up in the foothills of West Virginia, they wanted a rustic cabin reminiscent of their childhood. To set the tone, we selected beech wood for the refacing material, suggested staining with a natural color, and black glazing. (Glazing is an accent stain applied over the entire finish, then hand-wiped away leaving a “hang up” of light to dark tones in areas of detail such as corners, deep grooves, and wood grains.) The unique doors with ornamental nail heads completed the look. New drawer boxes, slides and soft close hinges were also added.
