The Emotional Impact and Value of Family Dinner

Well, it’s official! 2021 is over, and 2022 is here. What a rollercoaster it has been! Reflecting on last year may bring mixed emotions amid the ongoing pandemic. We recognize that the past may have brought heartache to your family. If that was the case, we wish healing and a sense of newness in the days ahead. We hope there are opportunities to find a new hobby, practice some self-care or spend extra time with your loved ones. Whether you’ve committed to a resolution or you’re opting to take things one day at a time, we hope that 2022 has gotten off to an exceptional start.

At Comfort Remodel we have taken time to reflect on what is important to us as a company. We’ve realized that our top priority is to spend more time with our loved ones in the new year. We want to be intentional about how time is spent and find ways to make the most of it. We value relationships and want to invest in friends and family. That can be a challenge when our days are packed with phone calls, meetings, and a long to-do list. After some thinking, we concluded that we can make the most impact around the dinner table. That’s right! A good old fashioned family dinner! This year we are opting to take time to sit down and share meals with friends and family in our homes.

It’s no secret that life is busy, and sometimes fixing dinner can feel like a chore. However, there are an overwhelming number of benefits to family dinners. Check out for more specifics on the benefits of family mealtime. And, if you ask us, the best place to host a family dinner is in your home around the kitchen table.

Studies show that there is a significant amount of emotional value to share a meal in your kitchen. Gathering around the table gives your loved ones a place to be together. It's a chance to put phones down and talk to one another face to face. Having a comfortable space in the heart of your home makes all the difference when it comes to dinner time (and all the time!).

We suggest considering how a newly remodeled space could positively affect your family meals. Creating a warm and welcoming environment uniquely tailored to you and your family is what we do best. We want to help you optimize the time you spend entertaining or just relaxing in the glow of good conversation.

When life gets crazy, it’s easy to let family time fall to the wayside. However, a fresh kitchen that the whole family is excited to spend time in makes setting aside mealtime that much easier. Whatever your 2022 may bring, we hope you and your family find time for each other. In the words of our favorite John Hughes movie, “Life moves pretty quickly” so take advantage of every moment you have together.
